Where smaller MADI interfaces are often designed around portability, the MGR is built with resilience and expansion in mind. The unit ships as a quad BNC MADI-to-SoundGrid interface, supporting up to 128 channels of recording and playback at 96kHz whilst maintaining compatibility with both 56- and 64-channel MADI formats. Optional optical MADI modules provide additional deployment flexibility, allowing the interface to integrate seamlessly with a wide range of broadcast and live sound systems.

Dual redundant power supplies ensure uninterrupted operation in critical applications, while the integrated SoundGrid network switch simplifies network topology and reduces the need for additional infrastructure.

This combination of redundancy and connectivity makes the MGR particularly well suited to broadcast facilities, OB trucks and large-scale touring systems where reliability is paramount.

Unlocking Advanced Recording and Processing

Beyond simple format conversion, the MGR serves as a gateway to the wider capabilities of the SoundGrid platform.

Connected via a single Gigabit Ethernet link, MADI-equipped consoles and routers can gain access to multi-computer recording, virtual soundcheck workflows and real-time plugin processing. When paired with a SoundGrid DSP server, engineers can run extensive Waves plugin chains with exceptionally low latency, offloading processing from the host computer while maintaining responsive operation during live productions.

The ability to simultaneously record to multiple systems also introduces valuable redundancy for critical recording applications, ensuring audio capture remains protected even in demanding production environments.

With support for sample rates up to 96kHz and clock synchronisation via Word Clock, MADI or SoundGrid, the MGR integrates comfortably into sophisticated digital audio infrastructures.

In larger productions, efficiently moving audio between multiple consoles, recording systems and processing engines can quickly become a challenge.
