What can the EXBOX be used for?

EXBOX devices are used to bridge different professional audio systems together, including:

How many channels does the EXBOX support?

Channel count depends on the model, but typical configurations include:

• Up to 64 channels (RAVENNA / Dante variants)
• Up to 128 channels (SoundGrid variants at 48 kHz)
• Reduced channel counts at higher sample rates (96 kHz and above)

Can EXBOX handle sample rate conversion between systems?

Yes. EXBOX includes FastSRC™ low-latency sample rate conversion, allowing asynchronous systems (e.g. Dante ↔ MADI or Ravenna ↔ MADI) to operate together without clock alignment issues.

This is especially important in hybrid AoIP + legacy digital workflows.

Which EXBOX version should I choose: Ravenna, SoundGrid, or Dante?

Each EXBOX variant is designed for a specific ecosystem, and the best choice depends entirely on your network infrastructure:

• EXBOX RAV (Ravenna / AES67) → Best for broadcast and SMPTE ST 2110 environments
  Designed for IP-based broadcast workflows using AES67 interoperability, ST 2022-7 redundancy, and NMOS device management.
• EXBOX SG (SoundGrid) → Best for Waves DSP and live plugin workflows
  Used in systems running Waves LV1 or SoundGrid servers where ultra-low latency processing and plugin integration are required.
• EXBOX MD (Dante) → Best for general-purpose audio-over-IP systems
  Ideal for flexible live sound, touring, and installation environments where Dante is the dominant network protocol.

Can I use different EXBOX versions in the same system?

Yes. EXBOX devices are designed for hybrid system integration, and different variants can be used together within a larger audio infrastructure.
