MILAN.SG.SRC.IO is a dual network audio interface card for the PRODIGY Series and MAVEN.A to connect with 64 channels each of MILAN* and SoundGrid streams.
One interface card, two audio engines
Hosting two audio network boards the interface card offers 2 x 64 of two different audio protocols - MILAN* and SoundGrid. This allows to interface with two audio protocols in a single A Slot of MAVEN.A or PRODIGY.MC. With the two A Slots of a PRODIGY.MP the coverage can be extended by a third or even fourth audio protocol.
Sample Rate Conversion
Individual HD SRC for bi-directional sample rate conversion is on board as a standard.
The two audio network boards can be operated at different sample rates.
Dual network modules ensure a seamless connection across clock boundaries and different audio protocols on a single module.
Stream Redundancy
There are 2 x 2 independent network interfaces to connect each protocol via a second stream (Port 1 / Port 2).
The amount of audio channels per protocol is reduced at higher sample rates - 32 channels @ 2 FS or 16 channels @ 4 FS (SoundGrid supports 1 FS and 2 FS only).
Milan is an audio networking technology created and maintained by Pro Audio market leaders in the Avnu Alliance®. Milan™ is a standards-based deterministic network protocol for real time media.
*Milan-certified
SoundGrid is an audio networking technology from Waves that is based on ethernet layer 2.

FAQ
What is the difference between single network and dual network A Slot modules?
Single network A Slot modules provide one audio network interface, while dual network modules combine two networking technologies in one card, such as Dante-to-Milan or Dante-to-RAVENNA. Dual network modules are ideal for bridging different audio ecosystems and supporting hybrid workflows.
Which DIRECTOUT devices support A Slot modules?
A Slot modules are supported across several DIRECTOUT smart audio platforms, including PRODIGY.MP, PRODIGY.MX, PRODIGY.MC, and MAVEN.A. The number of available A Slots varies by hardware model.
What is the purpose of SRC in DIRECTOUT module names?
SRC stands for Sample Rate Conversion. Modules with SRC functionality include integrated high-definition sample rate conversion, enabling stable interoperability between devices running on different clock domains or sample rates.
What is the maximum channel count for A Slot modules?
Depending on the module type, A Slot modules can support up to 256 audio channels. Certain high-capacity modules, such as MADI4.IO and RAVENNA modules with optional licensing, offer expanded channel capabilities.
Which audio networking protocols are supported by DIRECTOUT A Slot modules?
DIRECTOUT A Slot modules support major professional audio networking standards including Dante, RAVENNA, AES67, ST 2110, Milan/AVB, and SoundGrid. This flexibility enables seamless integration into modern IP-based audio infrastructures.
