Expanded Control, Seamlessly Integrated
The Waves eMotion LV1 Control Surface is a dedicated tactile control interface for the LV1 live mixing system, designed to provide direct, low-latency hardware control over a software-defined mixer environment.
It features 17 motorised 100 mm faders with high-resolution position feedback, enabling accurate gain staging, layer control, and dynamic automation playback. Each channel strip is paired with an integrated display, providing real-time parameter readouts such as channel name, level metering, and assignment state, ensuring consistent visual feedback without relying solely on a host computer.
Engineered for Flow
The surface connects via a single USB interface, carrying both control data and power (when used with a compatible system configuration), allowing for simplified deployment in both mobile and installed environments. Once connected, it integrates directly with the LV1 engine without requiring additional control networking infrastructure.
Operationally, the layout is structured around standard live mixing workflows: channel faders, DCA/group access, mute/solo functions, and bank navigation are arranged for immediate access with minimal mode switching. Layering is handled through bank shifts, allowing a large channel count to be controlled from a compact physical footprint while maintaining consistent fader-to-channel mapping.
Encoders and function keys provide additional parameter access for processing control, plug-in adjustment, and routing functions, depending on session configuration. This allows engineers to perform critical mix operations without returning to the graphical interface, reducing interaction latency during live use.
A Refined Expansion of the Control Environment
The system is designed to scale with the LV1 ecosystem, acting as a hardware extension of a fully modular software mixer rather than a fixed-format console surface. In practical deployment, it provides a predictable, repeatable control layer for live sound, broadcast, and event production environments where tactile control and system responsiveness are essential.

FAQ
Can the LV1 Control be expanded?
Yes. LV1 Control systems are highly scalable:
- Multiple LV1 Control surfaces can be used together
- Additional touchscreens can be added for visual control
- Expanded I/O via SoundGrid stageboxes
- Additional DSP via SoundGrid servers
This modular approach allows systems to scale from small rigs to large multi-console environments.
Can multiple LV1 Control surfaces be used in the same system?
Yes. Multiple LV1 Control surfaces can operate within the same SoundGrid network, allowing:
- Separate FOH and monitor control positions
- Shared I/O and DSP resources
- Flexible workflow distribution across engineers
This is commonly used in larger productions and broadcast environments.
