The Nifty Audio HMA Fibre Kit provides a complete fibre networking solution for connecting stage and front-of-house systems in Waves LV1 Classic SoundGrid networks.

Designed for use with NETGEAR AV Line M4250 switches, this kit provides the essential components required to build a reliable fibre backbone between stage and FOH in live production environments.

Using OM4 multimode fibre, compatible 1000BASE-SX SFP optical modules, and a rugged tactical fibre multicore, the system delivers stable gigabit networking while providing electrical isolation and improved reliability compared with long copper network runs.

This makes it ideal for LV1 systems, broadcast systems and professional AV installations.

Designed for Waves SoundGrid Systems

In many LV1 Classic systems, a SoundGrid network switch is located on stage alongside Ionic 16, Ionic 24 stage boxes, DiGiGrid MGB and MGR MADI interfaces. A HMA fibre cable is then used to connect the stage network to the FOH switch.

This kit provides everything required to create that connection.

Tactical Touring Fibre Multicore

The kit includes a two-channel tactical fibre multicore fitted with expanded beam HMA connectors, designed specifically for demanding live production environments.

These cables use tight-buffered Belden tactical fibre with a rugged polyurethane jacket and aramid reinforcement, making them suitable for repeated deployment and re-spooling in touring systems. 

Expanded beam connectors are commonly used in broadcast and touring applications because they are resistant to dust and contamination while providing reliable optical performance in harsh environments.

Rugged Expanded Beam Patch Interface

The kit also includes FiberFox expanded beam panel connectors, allowing engineers to install fibre interfaces directly into rack panels.

These provide a clean and protected connection point between the internal switch patch leads and the external touring fibre multicore.

Compatible Optical Modules

The included optical modules are 1000BASE-SX SFP transceivers, compatible with the 1-Gigabit SFP ports on NETGEAR M4250 AV Line switches.

These modules operate over multimode OM4 fibre using LC connectors, making them ideal for stage-to-FOH fibre networking.
