Control, without uncertainty

AXIS is not part of the system.

It is where the system begins.

A purpose built host for Waves applications designed to run SuperRack and SoundGrid systems with consistency, not variability.

Separation by design

In a SoundGrid system, roles are defined.

Processing lives on the server.

I/O lives at the stage.

The Control lives here.

AXIS becomes the point where everything is seen, adjusted, and understood—without carrying the burden of processing itself.

Connections, without friction

Dual network ports—one for SoundGrid, one for standard networking.

Multiple display outputs.

USB for direct control.

The system remains clean, predictable, and stable even as it scales.

Built for a single task

At its core, AXIS is a computer.

But not a general one.

Every component, CPU, memory, operating system is selected and tuned to run Waves applications with stability under load. No background processes. No competing priorities. Just a dedicated environment for live audio.

Form, aligned with function

Axis Scope occupies only half the width of a standard 19-inch rack. Its compact footprint makes it equally suited to permanent installations, mobile production systems and fly-pack deployments, where space, weight and efficiency are often as important as performance.

Rack-mounted, transportable, and designed to sit alongside the rest of the system without redefining it.

A Compact Processing Platform

When paired with the WAVES Extreme-C SoundGrid Server and mounted together on a WAVES Rack Shelf for 2U Half-Rack SoundGrid Devices, Axis Scope forms a compact and efficient processing solution for Waves systems.

Combining dedicated control and processing hardware within a minimal rack footprint, the configuration simplifies deployment while maintaining the performance, reliability and connectivity required for live sound, broadcast and installed audio applications.

FAQs

  • Axis Scope is used as a host computer for Waves systems, typically serving as the core machine running:

    • LV1 mixing systems
    • SuperRack plugin processing
    • SoundGrid-based live or studio setups

It is deployed in FOH, monitor positions, broadcast racks, or studio environments where system stability is required.

  • Axis Scope connects via a dedicated EtherCON SoundGrid network port, allowing it to interface with:

    • SoundGrid I/O devices
    • SoundGrid DSP servers
    • Waves software applications across the network

This enables it to act as a host computer within a distributed audio system.

  • Axis Scope itself is a computer host platform, not a DSP processor.
Audio processing and plugin execution are handled by:

    • SoundGrid DSP servers (e.g. Extreme-C, Titan)
    • SoundGrid networked audio infrastructure

Axis Scope runs the control software and session environment, not the real-time DSP load.

  • Yes. Axis Scope is also used in studio workflows, where it can run:

    • Tracking sessions
    • Mixing and playback systems
    • SoundGrid-based plugin environments

It functions as a dedicated host computer for Waves software ecosystems in studio setups.

  • Axis Scope supports up to three displays, using:

    • HDMI output
    • DisplayPort output
    • USB-to-HDMI adapter

This allows flexible multi-screen workflows for live mixing and system monitoring.

  • Nifty Audio is proud to be the UK’s first dedicated Service Centre for Waves hardware.

Our new facility provides priority repairs, diagnostics and support for Waves LV1 Classic Consoles, SoundGrid Servers, Axis
Scopes and LiveBox handled by trained experts using official parts and
