Compact and Lightweight

Engineered with a remarkably refined and efficient physical footprint, combining the capability of a large-format live mixing system within an elegantly compact design. Under 17.5 kg and built for scalability, it’s equally at home in touring rigs, installations, or studio environments. Compact by intention rather than limitation, LV1 delivers a highly sophisticated live production environment that remains effortless to transport, configure, and scale across a wide range of professional applications.

Designed Around the Live Engineer

Great technology should disappear into the workflow. The Ionic 24 integrates seamlessly with the Waves eMotion LV1 ecosystem, enabling rapid deployment and intuitive control from a single interface.

Input parameters, output settings, and preamp adjustments remain accessible directly within the mixing environment, reducing complexity and allowing engineers to focus entirely on the performance.

The result is a streamlined experience that feels effortless, even in demanding live production scenarios.

Precision through flexibility

LV1 is intentionally modular by design. Control surfaces, touchscreen configurations, DSP servers, and I/O can all be configured independently to create systems tailored precisely to each production environment. Whether deployed as a lightweight travel rig, redundant broadcast system, immersive playback environment, or full-scale FOH platform, the workflow remains consistent, elegant, and highly intuitive.

Refined for live performance

Every operational detail has been developed around real-world engineering demands. Snapshot automation, detailed metering, DCA spill functionality, custom user layers, and low-latency monitoring all work together to reduce friction during critical moments. The system remains technically powerful without ever feeling visually overwhelming — allowing engineers to remain connected to the performance rather than distracted by the technology itself.

Built for Demanding Productions

Every aspect of the Ionic 24 has been developed with professional touring and installation environments in mind. Its rugged 3U chassis, flexible analogue and digital connectivity, and SoundGrid networking architecture create a platform that is equally comfortable in permanent venues and on the road.

From small productions to large-scale events, the Ionic 24 provides the reliability, scalability, and sonic excellence required to support world-class live sound.

Effortless Scalability

For engineers working at a larger scale, the optional 80-Channel Expansion extends the Waves LV1 platform beyond traditional console limitations, allowing larger productions, more complex routing, and higher channel density without altering the workflow engineers already rely on. Expanding the system from 64 to 80 stereo channels, with support for up to 160 inputs and 52 buses, the architecture remains fluid, responsive, and remarkably controlled even at scale. Rather than increasing complexity, the expansion preserves the clarity and flexibility that define the LV1 environment.

FAQs

  • The LV1 Classic is used in live sound reinforcement, touring, broadcast, and installed systems where high-quality processing and flexible routing are required.

    Typical applications include:

    • Front-of-house mixing
    • Monitor mixing (in-ear and wedges)
    • Broadcast audio mixing
    • Hybrid live + playback systems

  • Yes. The system is designed for scalable expansion:

    • Additional I/O via SoundGrid stageboxes
    • External DSP servers for more processing power
    • Dante and MADI expansion options
    • Extra fader banks and external touchscreen support

This allows the console to grow from compact setups to large multi-console systems.

  • Vocal: Waves Tune Real-Time

EQ: F6 Dynamic EQ, eMo Q4, GEQ

    Dynamics: eMo D5, Renaissance Compressor

    Effects: H-Delay, R-Verb, TrueVerb, Doubler

    Control: X-FDBK, PSE

Tone: Magma Tube, Renaissance Bass, GTR3

  • Yes. The LV1 Classic is designed for mission-critical live sound environments and supports multiple layers of redundancy depending on system configuration.

    Redundancy options include:

    • Dual SoundGrid network paths for audio transport failover
    • Redundant SoundGrid DSP servers for continued processing if a primary server fails
    • Backup stageboxes and I/O redundancy within the network
    • Optional system-level backup configurations using mirrored sessions

The LV1 ecosystem can maintain uninterrupted audio even in the event of hardware or network failure, making it suitable for broadcast, touring, and installed systems where uptime is critical.

  • The LV1 Classic runs on the Waves SoundGrid ecosystem, which requires dedicated DSP servers for real-time audio processing and plugin execution.

    Compatible SoundGrid servers include:

    • Waves Extreme Server series (for high plugin counts and large productions)
    • Waves SuperRack SoundGrid servers (commonly used in touring rigs)
    • Compact SoundGrid servers for smaller systems and fixed installations

These servers handle all plugin processing externally, allowing the LV1 console itself to remain lightweight while delivering low-latency, high-channel-count performance.

For larger systems, multiple SoundGrid servers can be networked together to increase processing capacity and provide redundancy and load balancing across the system.

  • Yes. Both units operate on the same SoundGrid network protocol, allowing them to be combined within a single system for expanded input and output capacity.

They can be used together in:

    • LV1 systems
    • SuperRack setups
    • Larger distributed audio networks

Demo

See how it fits, before you commit.

We believe professional audio equipment should be experienced, not just specified. That's why we offer field tests on selected products, real gear, in your hands, not a spec sheet or a demo video.

Delivered to you. You run it your way, integrate it into your current system, put it through whatever you'd normally put it through. A week later, pack it up, and send it back.
