Compact by intention rather than limitation, LV1 delivers a highly sophisticated live production environment that remains effortless to transport, configure, and scale across a wide range of professional applications.

Processing without boundaries

Each channel strip functions as a fully modular processing environment, capable of hosting multiple Waves and SoundGrid-compatible plugins simultaneously with near-zero latency. Dynamics, EQ, reverbs, saturation, vocal tuning, immersive processing, and advanced routing can all coexist within a single workflow without interrupting responsiveness or stability. Rather than limiting creativity, the architecture is designed to encourage it.

Precision through flexibility

LV1 is intentionally modular by design. Control surfaces, touchscreen configurations, DSP servers, and I/O can all be configured independently to create systems tailored precisely to each production environment. Whether deployed as a lightweight travel rig, redundant broadcast system, immersive playback environment, or full-scale FOH platform, the workflow remains consistent, elegant, and highly intuitive.

Every operational detail has been developed around real-world engineering demands. Snapshot automation, detailed metering, DCA spill functionality, custom user layers, and low-latency monitoring all work together to reduce friction during critical moments. The system remains technically powerful without ever feeling visually overwhelming — allowing engineers to remain connected to the performance rather than distracted by the technology itself.

Effortless Scalability

For engineers working at a larger scale, the optional 80-Channel Expansion extends the Waves LV1 platform beyond traditional console limitations, allowing larger productions, more complex routing, and higher channel density without altering the workflow engineers already rely on. Expanding the system from 64 to 80 stereo channels, with support for up to 160 inputs and 52 buses, the architecture remains fluid, responsive, and remarkably controlled even at scale. Rather than increasing complexity, the expansion preserves the clarity and flexibility that define the LV1 environment.

  • The LV1 Classic runs on the Waves SoundGrid ecosystem, which requires dedicated DSP servers for real-time audio processing and plugin execution.

    Compatible SoundGrid servers include:

    • Waves Extreme Server series (for high plugin counts and large productions)
    • Waves SuperRack SoundGrid servers (commonly used in touring rigs)
    • Compact SoundGrid servers for smaller systems and fixed installations

    These servers handle all plugin processing externally, allowing the LV1 console itself to remain lightweight while delivering low-latency, high-channel-count performance.

    For larger systems, multiple SoundGrid servers can be networked together to increase processing capacity and provide redundancy and load balancing across the system.
